A copy of Bless me Ultima travelled with me when I moved to Scotland. Many of the pages brought to life my memories of Santa Fe. From the aroma of warm tortillas to the corridors of Wood Gormley school. My imagination was incited and I produced two paintings the imagery of which springs from that book. I may return to that theme among other new works to come. My cousin, Jim Baca owns one of these and the other hangs beside it in his home. You can all view them and others on my website. Have a look. Hope to meet you when I'm back in Santa Fe next year. Congratulations on creating such a wonderful site.

Buen provecha,

Miguel M. Padilla

Nice piece my dear father. It is interesting though that the website posted: http://www.padillafineart.com does not work, nor do you have a picture of yourself in the profile spot. In fact, for such a fine artist as yourself there is no trace of you or your artwork anywhere to be found online. You should not be ashamed of yourself or your work. In order to be a famous artist, one must put their work out there to be seen easily by all who search for it, Sir. I would love to see what my father has been doing all these years. It would have been a pleasure to have known you the last 43 years of my life. Hope you are happy and well in your life. I just want you to know that you have a son out here who loves and supports you. Thank you for giving me life Michael (Miguel) Monico Padilla.

Hello Miguel. Thanks for the post. I notice that you posted an image which did not upload. This has been an ongoing issue with the site and I would be interested in having what you attempted to post. If you'll email it to me at mlord@rt66.com I'll see if I can get it to post.

    M,
I still see many of your bros from la Cofradia, like Frederico Vigil and Luis Tapia. Frederico completed his mural at the Torreon at the National Hispanic Cultural Center and just finished a mural at Notre Dame. Luis is still working and creating amazing work. Both are featured on this site.

    Miguel,
I enjoyed your mural at the NM State Library for many years when I worked there in the Southwest Collection. Glad to know your are doing well and creating great paintings. Ultima is awesome. Have you seen the movie? I hope they take it to Scotland. Keep up the great work.
